Typical System Service
A typical system service consists of draining down the
system and measuring by weight the refrigerant removed,
this is compared to the correct weight of gas for your
vehicle. Typically a cars a/c system will loose a small
quantity of gas over 3 years, the comparison helps us to
differentiate between a potential leak and natural loss.
Once empty, we deep vacuum the system, this will remove
air/moisture from the system, if waters left in this system for
extended periods it will accumulate & freeze, drastically
reducing the life of your compressor and possibly causing
high pressure leaks. The vacuum reading is also used as a
further leak test.
Refrigerant oil is added to replace any lost during the
recovery process or work carried out to the system. Correct
oil level is important to lubricate the compressor &
expansion valve.
Finally, the system will be recharged with new refrigerant to
the correct weight as recommended by vehicle
manufacturer, checked for leaks, run and tested.
If we suspect theirs a possibility of a small leak the system
will be dyed.
